More Corps for Gettysburg

06 November 2022

I have moved on quite quickly to maintain my impetus. Now I do not propose to go over the process of putting together these bases; I have covered that in a previous blog, and I just did the same process again. And guess what it worked. These are the bases with the loose uncut troops laid out for effect.

The three corps in question are Hancocks 2nd Corps and Sickles 3rd Corps, both of the Union Army of the Potomac. and alongside these formations, I have worked on Ewell's 2nd Corps of the Confederate Army of North Virginia. Each corps has its Artillery base and its Corps Leader base, and I have added skirmisher figures as brigade count markers as before.

Once that process was finished, I moved on to finish them off the bases in the old style, as you can see below. The first one below represents Hancock's 2nd Corps, comprising three divisions with three brigades each.

The second one below is Sickles 3rd Corps, comprising two divisions with three brigades.

The third one below is Ewell's Confederate 2nd Corps, comprising three divisions with four, four and five brigades. Two bases represent the two larger divisions.

Well, now I have completed two of the three Confederates Corps and three of the eight Union Corps, I am saying that that's real progress for this project. I am now moving on to Heths 3rd Corp of Confederates and See if I can also cover Sykes 5th Corps and Sedgewick's 6th Corps of Union troops, using my old figures before I have to contemplate a purchase or two.
