Even More Corps

16 November 2022

I have to say again that we have progressed a lot. By working through the night, under candlelight and with tools at hand, Hills 3rd Corps of the Army of North Virginia and both Sykes and Sedgwick's Corps of the Army of the Potomac are now also done and ready for action...

Here is A.P. Hills 3rd Corps of the Confederate Army of North Virginia, the largest of the three Corps. There are six of these division-sized bases, which means that Heth's Corps looks like it's the biggest with all its bases deployed.

Hills Corp was about 22,000 men strong in 13 brigades.

Here below, we see Sykes 5th Corps:

And Sedgwick's 6th Corps from the Union Army of the Potomac:

As we can see again, individual Union corps were smaller than the Confederate corps. Sykes's Corps was about 11,000 strong in 8 brigades, and Sedgwick's Corps was around 14,000 men in 8 brigades. However, overall these two Corps matched Hill's Corps in size.

I now have eight Corps across both armies at Gettysburg done and dusted. I will move on with other troops as they arrive from a kind supporter sending me some reserves. When they turn up, I will be working on building the last three union corps. Two infantry corps of Howard's 11th, Slocum's 12th, Pleasonton's Cavalry Corps, and Tylers Artillery Reserve. The Confederates will need Stuarts Cavalry Division as well.
