American Civil War, Part 8 – Dismounted Cavalry and Horse Holders

In ACW part 8 – We are going to do a small job on two bases of dismounted Cavalry. I will try to make these a little brighter for the Union and a little scruffier for the Confederates. Anyway, we will see how we go as I learn to paint with little variations and less darkness. As usual, I will start with trousers, hats, and base colours.

The first thing to do is the simple stuff trousers and hats, this will help me get my hand in again after a small break from painting:

Now I know it doesn’t look like progress, but there has been some movement. I have added a lot of basic colours to the figures, so these are now ready for washing:

As usual, I have the figures now ready to wash, I have not done the black colours as I usually do this post washing as it shows out better. Once the with is dry I will add black and further details so we can run into the finish.

I am also going on a bit of a project break so we will come back to these in a while.
