WW2 British Infantry - Close up and personal

11 September 2020

This blog focuses on the bases I have painted of a British Platoon as part of my Fire & Move - Infantry project.

The Platoon HQ Section is made up of two groups - the HQ Mortar Group and the HQ Rifle Group with the platoon leader.

Below we see the details of the HQ’s Mortar Group deployed for action and ready to fire in support of the Platoon as a whole.

And now we can see the HQ’s Rifle Group with its leader and wireless operator observing the action and prepared to give orders to his Platoon.

The Platoons 1st Section (one of 3 Sections in the Platoon)

The section above is made up of two groups the sections Rifle Group and the sections Gun Group (we also have a third base which is a scout base, that can be detached/re-attached when needed)

Above we have the Rifle Group with it various soldiers firing, advancing and running forward.

The Gun Group (above) is shown below with Bren gun and the two soldiers accompanying carrying extra ammo and providing overwatch cover.

Here above we can see the Scouts Base which is detached to move forward when a unit wants to scout see if anything lies ahead.

Now I am definitely moving on to HMS Glasgow’s & HMS Lively’s crew . . .
